AstraZeneca Expands with a New $1.5bn Facility in Singapore

 

 

AstraZeneca plans to expand its global production capabilities with a new $1.5 billion manufacturing facility in Singapore, focusing on cancer treatments. This initiative marks the company's first end-to-end production site dedicated entirely to antibody drug conjugates, a promising alternative to traditional chemotherapy. Set to be operational by 2029, the facility will manage all stages of the manufacturing process on a commercial scale. CEO Pascal Soriot cited Singapore's strong reputation in complex manufacturing as a key factor in the location choice, highlighting AstraZeneca's commitment to advancing its industry-leading portfolio of cancer medicines.

 


 

Blue Origin Returns to Crewed Space Missions

 

 

After nearly two years since its last crewed flight, Blue Origin has successfully launched the NS-25 mission, marking the company's return to sending tourists to the edge of space. This mission included notable passengers like Ed Dwight, once selected to be the first Black astronaut candidate. The mission's success follows a period of review and enhancements in collaboration with the FAA, after a previous mission was aborted.
